As a teacher, I feel its essential for students to be organized and independent. For my class students will need 2 notebooks. One notebook will be used for note taking, and the other for formulas. Students are allowed to use their notes for exit tickets and classwork. Both notebooks are allowed to be taken home to aide with homework in case there isn't an adult or older sibling present who can help. Math formulas can be overwhelming and frustrating if you can't remember them! Utensils such as pencils and highlighters are needed to take notes and highlight keys ideas during the lesson. Majority of my students lack bookbags and pencil cases so I keep these items in the class for them to use at their descretion. Hand sanitizer and disinfected spray is always needed to clean the classroom. With covid being present it causes us to deep clean the classroom everyday. Desks, chairs, door knobs, and materials get wiped down 3x a day. All these items are vital for making sure my students are prepared each day for learning in school and at home.
