Two years ago, I created Video Game Club at my school. I had heard that a lot of students have rough family lives so I had created a room where we could come, nerd out, and enjoy building a community of video game lovers. Since then, it has evolved where anywhere from 15-40 students show up at any given time. We have a lot of fun and are able to conduct tournaments in a safe and responsible manner. The reason I am requesting televisions is that a lot of the ones that I was able to acquire over the years are old and beat up. Not only does VGC help students build relations, but it has also helped them in their academics. I saw an increase in student engagement after the development of VGC. These kids are awesome and should be given the opportunity to do something they enjoy while being in a safe environment.
