The mindfulness and yoga workshops will reach approximately 50 students in grades 6-8. I plan on hosting a 7-part series from November to May. Each workshop will be 35 minutes and will build upon the previous one. These sessions will focus on breathing techniques, mindfulness strategies, calming yoga asanas, and flows to enhance focus. The goals of the mindfulness and yoga workshops are to help students learn coping mechanisms, decrease impulsivity and increase awareness of their actions and reactions. Meditations and sensory activities will also be included in the workshops.
