My students have high sensory needs and we incorporate many calming strategies in my room for students to calm down and continue to be engaged in learning while addressing their individual needs. Not only will my students use these flexible seating options, but my room is also a home base for many special education students in our school. I want them to know they always have a calm and relaxing place to go where they can continue their learning. I have seen how much this makes a difference and it offers an alternative to kids just walking out of the classroom to find a place to calm down.
