Representation matters! By creating a lending library of books with disabled characters, my students with disabilities will see themselves reflected in stories and non-disabled students at my school will be given a chance to reflect on experiences outside their own. This lending library will be open to all educators in my school so that they can read them with their students. I hope by sharing these stories it will increase my students’ with disabilities sense of belonging and help educate our whole student population about the humanity of the disability community.

About my class
