As the after school director, I provide a safe after-school space for scholars, grades 6th through 8th, to have an opportunity to explore and apply skills learned in class to various activities such as DIY projects, problem-solving projects, expressive art, and gardening. As residents in Silicon Valley, it is critical to provide our youth with an opportunity to explore and develop a love for technology. The next great contributor to technology can be sitting in my classroom but currently do not have the means to discover his, her, or their talent. Unfortunately, our school cannot provide computer or technology-related courses. It will be a disservice to our scholars if we do not expand our enrichment offering to include computer-based activities such as video editing, audio creation, coding, data analysis, and reporting. Your donations will provide our youth the foundation needed to explore computer and software and develop critical transferable skills often utilized to flourish in the tech capital.
