Math is a "universal" language but instructions are NOT! Many students are SO smart and know the procedures and how to solve problems but how can they work if they do not understand what is being asked of them? This tool would help students ask questions in their native language and I will hear it in English and vice versa! Yes the ultimate goal is for students to become fluent in English but what happens to them in the process? When they have just arrived not knowing a word in English? Imagine being in a classroom where nothing makes sense.... Imagine needing just a bathroom break and not being able to ask where it is.... Many students are traumatized because of the language barrier. Help me BREAK that WALL! Help me be able to communicate with my kids and their parents!
