Currently, in my classroom, I have an old plain gray carpet that takes up a lot of my floor space. Another challenge I have with my current carpet is making sure each student has their own personal space that is not too far and not too close to any other student. With kindergarten, this is a challenge. When using my current carpet, each year, I have to peel and place tape with each student's name on it and eyeball the appropriate spacing for each child. This is super time-consuming and frustrating, especially for a perfectionist like myself who likes things to be as symmetrical and orderly as possible. The rug I have selected will be the perfect replacement for my current carpet. It gives each student their own personal square spot for a clear visual of their space. Allotting spaces to students will be much easier now because I will be able to designate a color spot for each student instead of a taped spot. In my classroom, we gather to collaborate on the carpet daily and frequently and I would love to use this new carpet to continue collaborating while giving each student a personal and spacious sit spot!
