Our school is home to 800 students in an Urban District. We are the home to students in grades Pre-K thru 8th. Our Media Center is open twice a week for students to come in and explore/research via computers or just sit back and read a book after school. During the week I service over 631 students through their library time. We spend a lot of time using the computers and having headphones that are noise reducing would help them to stay on task and focused without any outside interruptions. This is my first year in the position after teaching in this school for 20 years and I love it. My goal is to make our Media Center the "heart of the school". School libraries should provide an environment where students use equipment that they may not have access to at home. Allowing them to find success in and out of the classroom.
