Teaching social and emotional literacy lessons are now a daily expectation in most classrooms. However, many curriculum do not reach all learners and address all needs. Accessibility and access to a variety of teaching materials is essential to reach all learners. While it may be hard for some learners to identify their own feelings, experiencing things through a character is a great way to make connections. These materials will ensure that I have a variety of resources to pull from to both plan lessons, pair learning activities with, and more importantly, they will be available for all of the students to access by choice at any given time because they will be showcased in our classroom library! While these materials will be housed in my classroom library, I intend to share these resources with fellow learning leaders to use for lessons in their classrooms as well.
