Most children's books feature caucasian children. My students come from a wide background, and rarely see themselves represented in literature. This classroom library will help my students to see characters in literature that look and sound like them. They will be represented and realize that books are for everyone. These books will be prominently displayed and help the students feel that they are represented in our classroom, and in the world at large. We are excited to have books in our school that represent our community. Thank you so much for your donations!
