Our current classroom rug is old, dilapidated, and extremely worn after many years of use. Although our current rug is well loved and very well used, it has stains and tattered sections that need repair. A new classroom rug would transform our classroom and allow us to gather daily on a clean, new area. The criss-cross applesauce, hands in your lap classroom rug is our common meeting area to unite for bonding and learning, simultaneously. Every day we meet on the rug for Morning Circle Time, Story Time, Music & Movement, Math Time, Class Celebrations, and much, much more. A new classroom rug would enrich my students’ love for learning as well as a positive connection with each other. Additionally, we love that this criss-cross applesauce rug affords a personal space for each student as well as permanent alphabets with pictures that will be used for teaching letter as well as sound recognition. This structure is very needed and helpful for our present and future Pre-Kindergarten classroom.
