It is important to have an area in my classroom where my students can gather for circle time and whole group learning. In Kindergarten, students are best engaged when they are seated near the teacher and actively participating. This rug will be used for whole group reading lessons, whole group math lessons, calendar time, and any other whole group lessons. I chose this rug because it has letters and numbers printed on the rug to reference and promote learning. It also has seating squares which help teach my kindergarteners personal space.
