This project will take beginning coders and expose them to as much as we can in robotics to increase their interest in the field. Students are lacking in this area of computer science, yet it is a high-demand career field. These hands-on projects will nurture their love for robotics, and it will also build their confidence that they can learn these skills and motivate them to take more computer science classes at the high school level. These materials could also spark an interest in a career field. Students will learn automation skills as well as coding. Without these materials, the class will depend on teaching students using unplugged activities rather than hands-on materials where they can apply the skills they are learning.
