We will use the Spanish books for our classroom library. My goal is to create a literacy-rich environment where all students can develop a love for reading that will last a lifetime. I want each of my students to fall in love with books and develop a passion for particular authors, genres, and topics. Unfortunately, some students lack access to books and libraries. By having a collection of high-quality books, I can expose them to different types of books and genres. I have selected books that will help me achieve this goal. Our classroom library will be a place that empowers students to choose a book that captures their interests. Because of the diversity in my classroom, it is my priority to have books that reflect cultural sensitivity and are relevant to my students. The students will read the library books independently. I will support them as they build their ability to read for long periods of time. Also, I will teach them to select books that are a good fit for them. My dream is to help my students become lifelong readers who are empowered to choose books, have the pleasure of reading, and think critically about reading.
