Our school is a Title 1 school with nearly 80% of students on free lunch. My students are in second grade and no matter what the struggles and challenges they may face there eagerness to learn always inspires me. Our school has adopted a pilot program that uses the Bank Street Model which provides the students with the opportunity to be an active member of a community not only at the school but with the surrounding community as well.
