It is powerful how learning the backstory of a person's life teaches you amazing life lessons--especially when someone shows you how to push through obstacles to find solutions to problems. I want my students to know the many ways that math and science is as much a part of life as breathing. So, by learning the stories of how these brilliant scientists and great thinkers used math and science to make the world an easier and better place for them to live in---it will provide an access point for my students to explore their own curiosities and imagination---to continue the work of making the world better.
