Each quarter, my students set a personal reading goal. The goals are based on their individual reading abilities and they choose books from a selection of materials at their reading level. Because my class has a collection of diverse readers, the students keep track of their books in their personal book bins. Since Covid guidelines for appropriate desk spacing, my classroom has less room for the shelving needed to store their book bins. The students store their bin on the floor where they have been damaged. These chair pockets will store books without damage and will keep their books more accessible.
