I am a first year teacher teaching amazing students on the Autism Spectrum. I have had the pleasure of working with these students as a teacher's assistant for the past 4 years. These students are amazing and inspirational.
If they can't learn the way we teach, we teach the way they learn. My students will benefit from the technology. I want to start to incorporate some technology into the school day by using the tablets for morning circle, seesaw activities, and boom card learning. My students will also use their new technology during reading and writer's workshop to help them learn to read and write.
My students will benefit form these devices by being able to follow along with the ABCs and numbers as well as months and days of the week. They will use the tablets to do lessons on matching objects on boom cards and be able to draw pictures on seesaw for writing. All of my students are in different places academically so drawing pictures is their way of writing. I can also have them do reading workshop on the tablets to read grade level books.
