Children behave differently when their senses are on overload. Too many bright primary colors tend to have an overstimulating effect on children which can have a negative effect on their learning experience and behavior. Calming down the environment is a first step in helping children feel comfortable and ready to play and learn. Having more neutral and natural colors in their environment can sooth their emotions, behavior, and help with building positive relationships with each other and the teacher. The environment in the classroom has a direct effect on the behavior in the classroom. Having a calmer couch, chair, and rug will tone down and allow for a less chaotic environment.
