Second graders sometimes do not realize that they are a part of a larger world. We will learn of other cultures in the United State of America and other parts of the world. We will learn that our classroom is a smaller representation of our world. Our class has students that are diverse with all of the many different cultures that make-up our world. We will meet on our rug that is a visual reminder the world. They will be assigned their own place on the rug that is a part of the world or a state in the USA. These students that are living in this computer age have opportunities to communicate and learn with students in other parts of the world. They will learn how things are organized to make learning and living easier. One of our goals for this year is to learn how the months of the year is an organized system, how our learning is an organized system and how our classroom is organized including their space and supplies.
