I currently teach reading, writing, and social studies to students who are learning in a dual language program. These students learn three subjects with me in English and then learn science and math in Spanish. Many of my students and their families primarily speak Spanish at home. I want my classroom environment to be inclusive in every way. Having a bilingual rug will ensure that my students know that I recognize their language and their culture and that all are welcome in our space! Parents who only speak Spanish will immediately have a way to feel connected to our classroom as well!
