My 175 students is a blends a hodgepodge of students from taking the class to graduate to the students who are taking an AP equivalent class to students struggle with two different languages. These models will help explain fundamental concepts of biology and help student show relevance of biology in their life’s. Students will use the models to build blood types. They will be able to connect vocabulary to a tangible model and understand what makes us unique. The dice models will help link the concepts of blood typing and genetic hereditary of why we look like we do. Why are certain traits favored, why are we drawn to different traits and how can we predict what we will inherit and pass on. These models help create a bridge between STEAM and crossing cutting subject material like probabilities.
