I am looking to create a classroom where learning and mindfulness are the main focus. A place where students can come in and feel calm and feel like they have the space and supplies they need to be successful. Recently, I was moved to a very small classroom where there is no storage, and the students (35-40 of them) have very little space. I am looking to create a space where students feel welcome, calm and are able to use their resources like bookshelves, storage an a smaldesk in a very effective manner. I am creating a classroom where we can focus without a lot of distractions, so I am wanting to work with basics and comfortable items. I teach psychology, so some of the decorations are to make sure that students have some relaxing images. The smaller desk is to make more room for students. The relaxing items are to make the classroom as calm as possible. We are practicing mindfulness and relaxation in order to have a more conducive learning environment, and I believe these items will help get me and the classroom organized and comfortable.
