Listenwise hosts educational podcasts that change the way we learn content. Partnered with NPR (National Public Radio), Listenwise's podcasts are informative, interesting, and equitable across my student's diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and literary levels. The podcasts differentiate their vocabulary and reading levels to increase the student's understanding and capabilities through auditory-based learning over time. Not everyone is a strong reader or even likes to read, but Listenwise helps bridge the gap between decoding words and assigning meaning to what they are reading and listening to via awesome content. Thus, it takes down one of the barriers to successful learning and creates a more dynamic learning environment. There are quizzes and tiered tracks that help the students grow as they learn, developing both their English skills and historical thinking and understanding. I also want a whole-room air purifier to help keep these high schoolers safe from germs, viruses, and covid-19—allowing them to miss fewer days and not pass germs around the school and me as well. Being a teenager is hard enough without missing out on all the fun things and remember from high school. Thanks for reading!
