I want to be able to treat each student with something special on their birthdays! Each student would receive a Happy Birthday cup filled with a silly straw, flavored drink mix packet, mini journal, spy pen filled with disappearing ink, Happy Birthday Pete the Cat bracelet, and fruit snacks. Students will be able to write or draw in their journals, encouraging fine motor usage, as well, promoting literacy and language skills. Each student will also receive a birthday card with a personalized message from me and my classroom aide. I intend to use the full page labels to print personalized Happy Birthday labels for the front of the cup. I will also purchase tissue paper, cellophane bags, and ribbon to make this a super special gift for my students on their birthday. Most students in my classroom are living below the poverty level or are experiencing a rough home environment due to parents or grandparents using drugs. I want my students to feel special and to receive at least one gift on their birthday.
