My students attend a Title 1 school, so many of them don't have a musical outlet at home since instruments can be expensive. I want to give them experience on an instrument that can benefit them in the future, and will also provide cross curricular activities. I have a couple of ukuleles currently, but the benefit of having them each practice with their own ukulele would increase their engagement. The ukuleles will teach my students relative music content while benefitting them as music makers in the future. The ukuleles I selected will ensure that every student has a longer opportunity to practice and play the ukulele, and will inspire them to continue to pursue music long after they've graduated from 6th grade.
