My third graders love singing along when I play the ukulele - whether it's part of our Morning Meeting to build classroom community or as part of a lesson in Social Studies or Science. They enjoy accompanying me with their voices and rhythm but I only have the 1 ukulele. Imagine if they could accompany me with their own ukuleles! Implementing ukuleles will foster a highly engaging and exciting learning experience for each student while they actively experience music-making at a greater level. Music reaches all learners and is a universal language. From my kinesthetic, to my visual to my English language learners - it brings us all together. Ukuleles will help me to create a fun, higher-level learning environment promoting 100% student engagement through hands-on activities to discover, create, and explore. Ukuleles are great instruments for beginners yet they can also accommodate those that take off in their musical exploration. I hope to enhance my teaching with ukuleles and provide the best possible learning experience I can. With your help, I can make this a reality for these amazing students and impact their education in a meaningful and exciting way!
