I want to create a small library and encourage my students to read Japanese Manga. This collection will encourage them to come and hang out in my classroom. Manga introduces the Japanese written language and allows students to learn reading proficiency in Japanese. My project would be to build a library of manga books to encourage reading in the classroom. Through this collection, popular Manga will encourage students to decipher new Kanji letters and expand their knowledge and fluency in Japanese. At the same time, it will introduce words more commonly written but not spoken, expanding the vocabulary of my students through their own efforts.
