These tables will provide my students with an alternative to the traditional classroom desk. As an alternative school, we help students who have struggled in a traditional school and as a result have fallen one or more grade levels behind. Students in my social studies class will work together on classroom projects and document-based question (DBQ) essays as we focus on developing academic skills. Students will work together to analyze sources and take notes while accumulating evidence for their final essay. While their essays will be written by each individual student, the rest of the writing process will take place in small groups/teams.
