My students have a lot of things working against them in the classroom, strict schedules, hard seats, and loud classmates. These things will help them to have a safe place to go when they are overwhelmed. It will truly help them learn and make a huge difference! These students will be welcomed into my classroom with relaxing music being played by the Bluetooth speaker. They will have comfortable, alternative seating around a fire. I will have cushions, exercise chairs, and beanbag chairs. If they choose to sit in a traditional chair, they will have fidgets at their feet. Teachers can also borrow these tools from me for their traditional classroom. A corkboard will help display things that we have already learned so that we can reinforce our lessons. I can't wait to see learning become even more fun as we read stories under a starry sky with a camper backdrop. I hope that fidgeting with a toy will help them to be able to concentrate when they are in their homerooms.
