During reader's workshop, students read individual books as one of the reading stations. A diverse classroom library will allow students to feel comfortable and welcomed in our classroom. Students may not read at home, so having a variety of classroom books is very important to encourage students to become readers. Improving their reading habits will help students understand the curriculum in all content areas. Becoming a better reader will allow students to succeed in school and outside the classroom. Having multicultural books in our classroom library will make students feel welcomed.
