The world is quickly becoming digital and digitized, and an education within the digital context is quickly becoming an important part of students and their learning. How can students prepare for a digital world and careers using technology if they do not have access to digital tools, like laptops and/or tablets? In my 9th grade history class students will use lap-tops DAILY to engage with primary source historical material, to write with, and to critically think about historically applicable topics. These laptops will allow my students to create multi-media projects, concerning historical topics, and allow them to engage with historical content in a 21st-century setting. For example, I have a project written where students will create a song about an influential Enlightenment thinker and then develop a music video, using digital media, to their lyrics concerning their assigned thinker. These laptops will help provide educational and digital equity for my students. Thank you!
