I have always found that for my little ones they seem to do better when either all of us are sitting together or there is a small group of us sitting together learning and working together as a team. They also enjoy playing together on the rug during indoor recess and create games with the rug. It also is used for D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) and allows for the students reading on the carpet to feel special. We currently have a rug but it has seen better days and is quite threadbare. The students still loved using it but we are definitely in need of a new one if at all possible.
