Hello! My name is Loryn Johnson and I teach kindergarten at our elementary school. My classroom consists of 20 students which includes general education students and special education students. This school year we are presented with a new challenge. My students will all be coming face to face but because of the current pandemic we are experiencing, social distancing and safety is a priority in my classroom. Kindergarten students need to learn with hands-on materials but to limit sharing of materials, each student needs their own set of manipulatives for learning in all core subjects (math, language arts, science and social studies). My students also learn in centers which is mostly hands-on materials. Since materials cannot be shared, students will need their own learning center materials as well. These materials will be used to create engaging learning opportunities for my students. Foundational skills are crucial and with your help, you will be setting a path for success for my students. Along with learning materials, my students are in need of supplies. A large majority of my students come from low income families battling poverty daily. There is a lack of resources and opportunities. Help me provide the learning materials my students need to be the best learners they can be. My students need markers, dry erase markers, crayons, glue and other essential classroom materials.
