I am requesting funding to have access to the IB Computer Science curriculum created by CodeHS. I believe this curriculum will serve as a guide for me as a teacher to provide more rigorous material to my students. Our students will be taking multiple exams where they will be tested about what they have learned in this class. This curriculum would allow students to have additional opportunities to practice and have access to curriculum that covers the materials required to succeed in their exams, but more importantly, be prepared for college-level computer science coursework. If you provide me with funding to pay for this curriculum, you will be helping me to grow and develop our school’s computer science program, and you will be opening the door for other schools to create spaces for our students to see themselves as future engineers, product developers, and scientists. Thank you for your time and consideration of our school to have access to a rigorous curriculum that will support students in their academic journey.
