I find Scholastic News Magazines to be a captivating, fun experience to expand my students overall knowledge and current news topics. I am hoping to provide a magazine to each student, every month; to keep my students excited to read and keep up with current world issues. There are also activities and videos to supplement with the magazine and various reading levels to fit the needs of all my students. I think it is very important for students to pay attention to what is happening in the world, and I hope to ignite their curiosity for learning more about different people, places, events, and current issues. Along with learning about current events happening around the world, I would like to enhance the students' learning with art and creativity. Our school does not have any art programs or teachers, therefore we do not have enough art supplies for my class. It would be a great experience for students to get creative and paint something they have learned through reading about a topic we learned about. I look forward to seeing what amazing art they can produce with all the knowledge they have learned!
