As a teacher, I have the opportunity each and every day to provide my students with engaging and meaningful learning experiences. I would like this project to bring magic to my students by bringing as many elements of the Harry Potter universe to the students fingertips as well as through their imaginations. The Harry Potter Series offers powerful themes in a setting where magic is real, but the characters still struggle with situations audiences can relate to like friendship, loyalty, courage and good versus evil. By having a class set of novels, students will be able access the book in classes surrounded by Potter artifacts as the characters move through the novel. Once students arrive alongside the characters in the novel, they can also experience similar things like meeting the tattered Sorting Hat, and sitting with their sorted housemates with their own table banners. By incorporating student imaginations, physical environment and making the book so much more than just a book, I will succeed at making this class novel reading project magic for every child.
