The writing that we use is very interactive and they require interactive notebooks to accomplish some of the writing goals that we are required to accomplish in the 5th grade. Writing is one of my favorite subject to teach even thought it hasn't always been. On that note, that is why I enjoy so much teaching writing now. Writing is a very dear subject for me, growing up, and being from Mexican-American background myself, I can relate to the stress and frustration that writing can be to second language learners. We use certain writing strategies that require being organized, being easily accessible and being color coded. So with those materials, all three of those areas can be met with those materials. Even though they will not be taking the notebooks or pens home they can continue much of the writing process learning at home as well, since we use Chromebooks to complete our assignments and they can type their essays or paragraphs. To conclude, we will use the notebooks to write paragraphs, sentences and essays. We will use the colored pens to color code parts of speech in sentence making. We will also use the pens to color code in essay writing different parts of paragraphs such as the topic, the evidence and examples to name a few. It would be a great boost for our classroom. I appreciate you taking the time in looking at my application. Thank you!
