In my classroom we read a book a day that is meant to educate and inspire them about the world around them. This time is used to engage students in discussion about differences and cultures. Students are free to ask questions and learn in a safe environment. This project will allow the students to see themselves and others in these daily read aloud times. Students will be exposed and reflect on the differences and ways we come together as people in this selection of books. Having their own identities explored and present in the classroom will help every student to feel safe and welcomes in our community.
