Working in Newark, resources can sometimes be difficult to obtain, and it is vital that students are given as much access to a fair and rigorous education like their peers in surrounding areas. At this school, over 57% of students are classified as being economically disadvantaged. In addition, 51% of our student population has scored at or above the proficiency level for reading. Kindergarten is a foundational year and is crucial for students to be successful throughout their academic journey. In order for them to be successful in math (solving word problems), science, social studies and more, they need to have a solid foundation with reading. These resources will help to provide them with that foundation they need!
