The LEGO set, Magna-Tiles, and Marble Run toys will each be used to not only introduce my students to STEM, but to help them to develop their fine motor skills when they connect LEGO bricks as well as their eye-hand coordination while they play. By using the Talking Microscope, my students will be motivated to explore their environment and eager to learn about all the animals on our planet and it will inspire my young students to observe and value small things in their ecosystem. LEGO bricks, Magna-tiles, Marble run and the Talking Microscope are not only good toys to entertain kids, these are tools that provide young students with planning skills, patience, endurance and develop and create an interest in STEM topics that will guide them to their future career. A LEGO tower that falls down is part of the fun, and students do not mind rebuilding over and over until they reach success, learning from their mistakes. They will learn to plan their building projects, an important ability that they will build upon as they get deeper and deeper into their education.
