Flexible seating is important for student engagement, especially students with special needs. Students who struggle with attention or simply need movement to stay engaged benefit from pillows, floor chairs, and ball chairs. My students know all my lessons revolve around movement and student engagement. Movement is the key to learning and I promote a movement based learning environment. They will love these options for movement. Currently my classroom only has desks with built in chairs that allow zero movement. Please help me provide for the needs of my amazing 5th graders.
