Despite the challenges my students face, my goal is to provide them with exciting ways to learn their way. When they walk into our classroom they are greeted by groups of desks and chairs. There is no variety! No excitement! What the students need are “flexible” seating options. These seating options, will provide them with choices of how and where they sit, and leads to greater engagement and focus. They can use wobble chairs, cushions, stools and lap desks to give them a chance to take ownership of their learning and responsible with their choices. Studies have found that giving children the opportunity to move while learning helps students to stay focused on their work. If the students have comfortable seating it will improve their focus and productivity. Please help my students work in an environment in which they are engaged and relaxed as they learn in a seating of their choice!
