My young Americans come from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Whatever difficulties they are dealing with at home, they come to school ready to learn about how they can grow as a person and contribute the most they can to our society. Studying our Constitution and foundations of our government, they transform into scholars presenting at Congressional Hearings. Working together to improve each others' fluency, they perfect and perform a readers theater for the younger grades. Expressing themselves and their ideas - their favorite thing to do - is manifested in our fifth grade poetry slam. These kids work hard and deserve to have their voices heard.
