Flexible seating gives the students options and control of where they will learn best. During times of instruction and independent work students can choose a location in the classroom as well as a seating option that they feel they will be most successful in. I currently do not have any wobble seats in my classroom and my students are obsessed! I want them to have say in the materials in our classroom, as we all work together to be our most successful selves. Currently my students have variety of locations in out room to work such as: at desks, on the carpet with clip boards, or in a more private closed off desk area. Brining in student input to classroom setup and materials is an essential component in motivating them. There is a very noticeable difference in my students work when they are given a choice in their seating. It leads to more engagement, work completion and overall respect towards themselves, others and school materials. Specifically the wobble stools are adjustable and will allow students to sit at desk or table but will still allow some movement. These are very beneficial for students that may need to get the wiggles out intentionally or unintentionally.
