School is an important place for students to build relationships, improve on academics, and support a growth mindset (perseverance and endurance) through purposeful play. Play is a necessity and not a luxury. Play is so important for my students because it is not only for fun, but helps students improve their social-emotional skills, communication skills, academic skills, and helps to support a healthy growth mindset. I have requested Magna-Tiles, Code & Go Robot Mouse Activity sets and other resources. My students will utilize these resources for purposeful play to develop their skills, practice Kindergarten concepts, and learn problem solving/critical thinking strategies. These resources will also engage my students into learning in a new way after a Covid-19 year of learning, or a year of limited social interaction. Having a variety of materials accessible to my students will support multiple learning styles and various types of play while ensuring my students can learn and play safely in this Covid-19 world.
