Every year my class participates in creating individual volcanoes to erupt and see how quickly Earth's surface can be changed. Each student uses a can of Play-Doh to form the volcano over a recycled soda bottle top. Using baking soda, vinegar, and red food coloring the volcano is "erupted" for some hands-on learning. Snack time foods are a must for students as a little boost of energy to get them through the day. Not all students can bring snacks from home, so this would provide a snack for those without.
