Providing a rug for our classroom will give my 3rd grade students flexible seating options and an opportunity to guide their own learning. Students can make decisions on where and how they learn best. This will provide a carpeted space for our small group table and will allow the room to feel more welcoming for students. Providing my students a softer space to read, do partner work, group projects, participate during reading workshop and have choices in the classroom of where and how to learn is key to successful engagement.
