I am extremely excited for my first year of teaching second grade. I will be primarily teaching reading. I was not supplied with any books in my classroom. Without books, it will be extremely difficult to be able to help my students learn, grow, and develop their reading skills. My students deserve a wide variety of books to peek their individual interests and reading levels so that reading can become a positive adventure for them. These books will undoubtedly help nurture my students' ability to learn to read! I hope by providing my classroom with a wide variety of books I can engage every student’s interests. I want to develop a love for reading in each student that will follow them throughout not only their school career but their entire lives. I want my students to come into my classroom excited about their day with me and be excited about being able to choose a new book every day. These books would help me be able to accomplish this with my students and so much more. Being able to nourish my students' brains and help them develop a love for reading would mean so much to me.
